-4 cups fresh blackberries
-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-1/2 cup white sugar
-1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
-1/4 cup white sugar
-2 tablespoons milk
Preheat the kitchen stove to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Mix 3 1/2 cups berries with the flour and sugar. With the spoon mix the mixture into one unbaked pie shell. After spread the remaining 1/2 cup of berries on the top of the sweetened berries, and then cover with the top crust. At the end crimp the edges, cut vents on the top the crust, brush the top crust with the milk, and then sprinkle with the 1/4 cup sugar. Bake for about 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling in the pie is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
Tip: You can use aluminum foil to keep the pie moist and to cook it evenly.
